Forty-Seven Recent College Graduates Begin Purposeful Careers at PURE

July 30, 2016

The PURE Group of Insurance Companies, inclusive of Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange (PURE), the policyholder-owned property and casualty insurer designed for high net worth individuals and families, announced today that 47 recent college graduates have just completed its 2016 Summer Training Program. These individuals are now moving on to various practice areas within the company and will receive on-the-job training over the next 12 months as they become acclimated to their full-time positions.

This group, which makes up the insurer's largest class of recent college graduates to date, includes smart and talented individuals from many top schools around the country including Bowdoin College, Brown University, University of Notre Dame and Trinity College, to name a few.

PURE's Summer Training Program is designed to introduce young professionals to PURE and the property and casualty insurance industry. It includes 12 weeks of classroom-style training, collaborative group exercises, and mentoring—all of which helps participants learn valuable job skills and assimilate into PURE's culture and purpose.

PURE is a purpose-driven organization, dedicated to making its members smarter, safer and more resilient so they can pursue their passions with greater confidence. "Delivering on our purpose requires talented employees who are highly engaged, energized and enthused. Retaining employees of this caliber takes a culture that exudes trust and support, and that enables employees to flourish in a career that is a part of a fulfilling life," said Colin Haupt, Vice President of Human Resources at the PURE Group of Insurance Companies.

Approximately 50 percent of The PURE Group's staff is millennial. The company has retained 92 percent of its millennial hires since 2014.

In addition to the company's extraordinary success and purpose-driven nature, PURE offers a variety of perks such as monthly happy hours, an awards and recognition system that celebrates great work and modern workspaces. The insurer also offers a highly competitive benefits program which includes Flexible Paid Time Off, allowing employees to take the time they need when they need it without a limit on the number of days, and Passion Funds through which the company will contribute money that employees can use towards accredited certification programs unrelated to their jobs.

"By encouraging employees to pursue their passions while offering incentives for work-life balance, they are more motivated and able to deliver the exceptional service experience PURE is known for," added Haupt.
