PURE was built on the simple idea that the most responsible owners of the finest built homes deserve to pay less without sacrificing quality of coverage or service. Leveraging a business model that aligns the interests of the company with our policyholders and investors, PURE aims to eliminate the conflicts that exist in the industry. This problem-solving mindset has helped to grow the membership to more than 100,000 successful individuals and families across the United States and has made us the most awarded high net worth insurer.

In 2006, PURE launched in Florida. At the time, there were only a few insurers specializing in the high-net-worth space and many insurers were scaling back coverage in the state due to a series of catastrophic hurricanes. Our President and CEO, Ross Buchmueller, had studied industry statistics and found larger, more expensive homes fared the best in hurricanes. With this insight and his previous experience in the industry, Ross saw an opportunity to design an insurance company that provided a much-needed solution and tailored it exclusively for the high-end market (homes insured for $1 million or more).

We have viewed the delivery of the best service in the industry as a journey without a destination: we are always searching for new ways to innovate and service our members better.

Over the last 15 years, we’ve looked to identify issues in the insurance experience and worked to find solutions. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our membership and look forward to continuing to deliver a seamless insurance experience.

    PURE Home Spotlight compiles more than 30 data sources to help members understand the risks associated with a home before they buy it. The report includes prior insurance claims, elevation and flood risks, local firefighting capabilities, hailstorm patterns and wildfire zones.

    We have allocated over $100 million to members’ Subscriber Savings Accounts (SSAs) since inception. And, members who have been with PURE for 10 years or more, PURE Gold, are eligible for yearly cash distributions from their SSAs.

    Our Umbrella coverage pricing structure is based on the unique risk factors of the individuals covered by the policy, resulting in savings of around 45% for members upon renewal.

    PURE Member Advocates® help members before, during and after a loss. Our Member Advocate team also helps members implement risk management solutions and, in the event of a loss, guides them through the claims process from start to finish.
