Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Names Bobby Collins Chairman

CHARLESTON, SC - July 24, 2008 -Bobby Collins, senior vice president with Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange (PURE) and South Carolina general manager of the Florida-domiciled specialist insurer, has been named chairman of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, currently ranked among the top three chambers in the country.

As volunteer chair of the nation's oldest chamber of commerce, Collins will implement plans designed to stimulate the region's business and economic growth and improve the quality of life for residents. Collins was appointed July 1 to serve a one-year term.

"I'm honored to accept this leadership position with the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce and I am eager to continue to support our community's success," said Collins, a longtime insurance industry expert and business leader. "I look forward to continuing to collaborate with our business community, civic leaders and residents to find innovative ways to tackle the challenges we face and maximize our potential through such initiatives as regional planning, port expansion and workforce development."

Prior to joining PURE, Collins served as managing principal with Wachovia Insurance Services in Charleston, S.C. Before this, Collins worked in top management positions with Johnson & Higgins and J&H Marsh McLennan as well as Palmer & Cay Charleston (and its successor company Wachovia Insurance Services).
