Low Country Hurricane Preparedness

In less than a month, it will be hurricane season so Low Country businesses and residents gathered Thursday to talk about preparedness.
The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event. The topic was preparing your business for a storm. Experts and owners on the panel say that 80 percent of businesses that are hit by a hurricane in their community never reopen.
The hot topic today was making sure you're insured. One of the event sponsors, Ross Buchmueller from PURE insurance, says, "Speak with their agent and ask questions ahead of time about their coverage and about their expectations of how a claim should be handled."
