PURE Annual Leadership Forum Raises Generous Donations for St. Baldrick’s Foundation and Boston’s One Fund

April 8, 2013

White Plains, New York – May 9, 2013 -Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange (PURE), the policyholder-owned property/casualty insurer that exclusively caters to responsible high net worth individuals and families, raised nearly $25,000 for those in need at a recent conference held in Boston. Attendants of PURE’s annual Leadership Forum, which included partner agents from the around the country, PURE employees and guest speakers, brought in more than $14,000 to support St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the volunteer-driven charity dedicated to finding cures for childhood cancer. An additional donation of $10,500 was made to the One Fund, in support of victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.

“PURE’s Leadership Forum was designed to lift the category of specialist high net worth property-casualty insurance. It is always a rewarding event, but made much more so this year by the unexpected generosity of our agent partners, employees and guests,” said Ross Buchmueller, president and CEO of PURE.

Chuck Chamness, CEO of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies and a guest speaker at the conference, took the opportunity to raise awareness of a charity close to his heart. “I’ve supported St. Baldrick’s and served on the board for many years, and as someone whose family has been touched by pediatric cancer, am extremely appreciative of the work the foundation does,” said Chamness. “I was pleased to be able to share their mission at PURE’s event, and was touched that PURE’s offer to match donations inspired such a reaction from the agents.”

Jack Keefe, president of Wellesley, Massachusetts’ Corcoran & Havlin Insurance Group, contributed more than $10,000 to the One Fund Boston with the winning auction bid on a painting produced at the event by famed graffiti artist Erik Wahl. “I was thrilled that PURE held the Leadership Forum in my hometown, especially after the tragic events at the marathon. When the opportunity to support my city presented itself, I knew I had to keep going to win and keep the painting here in Boston,” said Keefe.
