First Tee – Metropolitan New York’s Nyah Roccamonte-Clark has been named the 2027 PURE Insurance Scholar. She was selected for her exceptional leadership, commitment to her community and role as a mentor to younger participants at her local First Tee chapter. The scholarship was awarded at The Match—a team-style golf tournament that takes place during the PURE Insurance Championship.
Roccamonte-Clark began playing golf at the age of five when her grandparents, who worked at Plainfield West Nine in Edison, NJ, enrolled her in the course's First Tee program. Now, she’s the No. 1 player on her high school golf team and a First Tee junior coach. She finished 15th at 2026 First Tee National Championship at the University of North Carolina, a competitive tournament that brings together the top players across the First Tee network.
Off the course, she completed 225 hours of community service last year, participates in her school’s STEM Connections Club and maintains a 4.0 GPA. She aspires to pursue a career in sports psychology.
PURE Insurance Scholars was introduced in 2021 to support First Tee and its College Scholarship Program. This scholarship provides financial support and mentorship to standout First Tee juniors. With the help of many, PURE surpassed the first $1 million goal in just four years and is committed to raise another $1 million by 2029 to continue supporting First Tee and PURE Insurance Scholars.
I'm so proud of the work we’ve done with First Tee.
"There are some incredible young golfers here this week, but more importantly, there are young men and women of character who are leaders in their schools and communities. They're going to shape the future, and PURE is proud to play a role in their stories."
