Reduced Miles Refund

As a result of reduced driving due to stay-at-home orders, we are providing a 15% premium refund for members with an Automobile policy for regular use vehicles. Our intent is to provide each member with a premium credit for the duration of their stay-at-home order, for up to 4 months. Our plans are subject to state-by-state regulatory approval, and may have to be adjusted to satisfy regulators. If things do change, we will keep you informed.

What You Need to Know

  • No action is required by you. When stay-at-home orders begin to be lifted, and we receive regulatory approval, we will process your refund.
  • Receiving your refund. If your premiums are paid in full, you will receive a refund by check or to your credit card, according to how you paid your premium originally. If you have an outstanding balance, the refund will be credited to your account, reducing the amount due to us.

Please note the refund does not apply to vehicles insured as Collector Cars as our rates already factor in very low miles driven. .

A Note on Calculating Your Refund

Our intent is to provide a premium credit for the time period that the roads are less busy, and as a result, there are fewer auto accidents. Today, stay-at-home orders vary by state, county and city, and we know that government response to the pandemic will evolve over time. In the coming days and months, our strategy for executing this refund will become clearer. Key considerations that might impact our approach include:

  • If stay-at-home orders remain in place for an extended period of time.
  • If regulators dictate how refunds are handled.
