Nelia Moore

Nelia joined PURE Art Services in 2018 and brings nearly 20 years of experience across the art market to her role as Head of Art Services, East. She advises PURE members and private collectors on acquisitions, sales, collection management, and the protection of tangible assets, with a focus on the Post-War, Contemporary, and Emerging art markets. Her approach combines market insight with practical guidance to help clients build, manage, and safeguard significant collections.
Drawing on extensive experience in valuables insurance and as a licensed claims adjuster, Nelia also consults on damage and loss for major institutions, galleries, private collectors, and PURE members. Her expertise spans both the art market and collection risk, providing clients with informed guidance through every stage of ownership.
Before joining PURE, Nelia was Head of Fine Art and an Auctioneer at Clarke Auction in Westchester, New York, where she was featured in The New York Times for her role in the rediscovery of a long-lost Hudson River School painting. She also held positions at the art consultancy Novo Arts and the nonprofit organization Portrait of Hope, contributing to Garden in Transit, a large-scale public art project developed in collaboration with the City of New York.
Nelia earned a BA in Art History and Fine Arts from The George Washington University and a Certificate in Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Arts from New York University. She is a member of ArtTable and serves as a guest lecturer at Sotheby's Institute of Art in New York.
