Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange (PURE), the policyholder-owned insurer designed for successful, responsible families, announced today the launch of its Teen Driver program, a new initiative designed to address one of the most pressing concerns families face: teen driver risk.
Rooted in research, shaped by input from PURE members and in partnership with the experts at Life360, PURE’s program aims to help teens build safer driving habits and give parents practical tools to support them from the start.
PURE's Teen Driver Program
A complimentary two-year premium subscription to Life360, a family safety app with features like location sharing, safe driver reports, crash detection, speed monitoring and emergency dispatch. PURE does not collect or access any personal driving data from participants through this program, and PURE members' information is never sold.
PURE’s Roadmap to Safer Driving, an interactive conversation guide to help parents and their teens have open, honest and ongoing dialogue about the rules, responsibilities and expectations of driving. It provides structure as well as opportunities for personalization, helping to turn the discussion into a collaborative exchange rather than a one-sided lecture. And because the concern is so great and there is so much at stake, the conversation guide is available to all parents, PURE members or not.
Discounted access to the BMW Teen School. PURE has partnered with BMW to offer members 20% off the BMW Teen School at BMW Performance Driving Centers. This hands-on experience puts young drivers behind the wheel of BMW vehicles in a controlled environment, where they learn critical skills such as accident avoidance, emergency braking and vehicle control.
For parents, including me, there is little more frightening than the idea of your teen getting behind the wheel of a car. Unfortunately, this fear is supported by data.
Among PURE’s membership, teen drivers are twice as likely as adults to be in a car accident, and their claims are three times more likely to involve severe property damage and bodily injury.
PURE's Teen Driver program is part of the company's broader mission to create innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of its members. PURE will continue to add new features and benefits to this program to help encourage responsible and confident teen driving practices.
