First Tee Junior Isabelle Junio was announced as a PURE Insurance Scholar at The Match—a team-style charity golf tournament that takes place during the PURE Insurance Championship and benefits PURE Insurance Scholars and First Tee. PURE leadership extended the surprise invitation to the high school senior who aspires to become an engineer. Junio volunteers for the Agua Fria Fine Arts Festival and has a GPA of 4.58.
PURE Insurance Scholars provides financial assistance as well as mentorship and internship opportunities to select stand-out juniors from First Tee. Scholarship recipients are selected based on financial need, academic performance, length of involvement in First Tee programs and commitment to volunteerism.
PGA TOUR Champions Mark O’Meara and Jim Furyk served as team captains during the event, and Team O’Meara took home the trophy.
The evening ended with an art auction, further benefiting PURE Insurance Scholars and featuring a piece by Lee Wybranski that was painted onsite at Pebble Beach. Over $500,000 has been pledged in support of PURE Insurance Scholars to date.
