Pure and simple?

A new insurance company is coming to the Palmetto State, and it has an interesting strategy, to say the least.

The company, called PURE High Net Worth Insurance and based in Plantation, Fla., will specialize in properties - including those along the coast - that are worth more than $1 million (yes, that's $1 million).

And get this: PURE (the name stands for "Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange") will offer wind and hail coverage to all eligible homeowners, including those located in the wind pool. By "eligible," the company means homes built to certain standards. In many cases, the company will inspect the property before writing a policy.

In addition, the company offers private fleet auto insurance (for people who have a selection of private cars), personal liability insurance, and jewelry and art insurance. You get the picture.

It's also worth noting that the S.C. Department of Insurance has licensed PURE as an admitted carrier in the state. That means its rate increases are subject to the department's approval, if they are above a certain threshold.

For more information about the company, go online at pureinsurance.com.
