One Beautiful Thing: Craig and Christina Dillard

Our membership includes passionate collectors: from retired Formula 1 racecars and coveted sports memorabilia to some of the world’s most renowned artworks. Each of their collections is carefully curated with what they love. For PURE member Craig Dillard, he loves collecting bourbon.
Bourbon is so much more than just a spirit to him; it is rich with American culture, smooth unique notes and a warmth that spurs in his chest with every sip. Craig’s passion has grown so much that his collection is now displayed in a newly-added bourbon room. Hidden behind a bookcase that doubles as a door to this private retreat, Craig enjoys tasting his rare and fine bourbons, a simple way for him to unwind after a busy day.
While on their anniversary trip, Craig and his wife Christina were alerted that a pipe had burst at their Houston home. To make matters worse, all the local airports were closed due to Winter Storm Uri, the catastrophic ice storm that paralyzed Texas in February 2021. Four days passed before they could return home, where they walked into a painful sight.
The ceiling was destroyed, furniture and carpets soaked and there was standing water in every room on the ground floor. PURE worked with the Dillards through every detail, from fixing the house to ensuring the family had clothes in the meantime.

All in all, the rebuild took almost a year and their PURE Homeowner's policy provided flexibility in how they chose to rebuild as long as it was within the like kind and quality of the original home. One of the new additions was Craig’s hidden bourbon room.
