Ross Buchmueller
Founding CEO
Ross Buchmueller founded PURE in 2006 and served as the President & Chief Executive Officer of the PURE Group of Insurance Companies (PURE) for almost 18 years. In July 2023, Ross stepped down as CEO and handed over leadership of PURE to Martin Leitch.
Ross's career spans more than 30 years exclusively focused on the high net worth property & casualty insurance market. After spending more than a decade at The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, Ross founded AIG Private Client Group and served as its President for more than six years before launching PURE. In 2020, PURE became a member of the Tokio Marine Group, one of the world’s largest insurance organizations. Ross holds a BA from Trinity College and serves on the college’s Board of Trustees. He also serves on the Board of Governors of the PGA Tour First Tee Foundation. Ross lives in Newport, Rhode Island with his wife, Pam.
